Washington Fire Evacuation Orders, Warnings and Road Closure Changes (8/27/2021 11:26AM)

WHAT: Evacuation and Road Closure Changes
WHEN: August 27th, 2021 10:45 A.M.
WHERE: Highway 108 and Stockton Road

The following area’s will remain under the Evacuation Order: North Drive, Golf Links Road (between Highway 108 and Chabroullian), McKibbon Drive, Constance Lane, Mountain Vista Court, Circle Drive, Alley Drive, Golden Dove Lane, Silver Pine Drive, and Southgate Drive (where
the pavement ends).

Evacuation Warnings will remain in place in the surrounding area within a mile of the Evacuation Order zone.

Highway 108 is open in both directions. Chabroullian Lane from Highway 108 to Golf Links Road is open. Stockton Road is closed between Highway 108 and Foothills Café. Southgate Road will remain closed beyond the Tuolumne Utilities District gate. Golf Links Road will remain closed from Jamestown Road to Highway 108.

Current Situation:

Firefighters are continuing to construct and strengthen direct fire line. Damage assessment for structures has begun and will continue today. Power remains out in portions of Sonora due to damaged powerlines. Warming temperatures with lowering humidity are expected today into the weekend. Wind will generally be upslope during the day, turning downslope at night. Locally gusty west wind is possible this afternoon.

  • 108 up Stockton Rd to Washington, S Washington to 108. This includes residences and motels on Stockton Rd

Current mandatory evacuation roads

  • Alley Dr, Golden Dove, Circle Dr, McKibbon, Golf Links, North Dr, Crooked Ln, Sonora Ave, Southgate Rd, Gerrymander.

EVACUATION WARNINGS:

  • City of Sonora, Panorama Dr, Rough & Ready, Gibbs, Jamestown Rd, Racetrack Rd, Mill Vila Estates

ROAD CLOSURES:

  • Hwy 108 from Wigwam Rd. Jamestown to Stockton Rd. (Hwy. 49)
    Stockton Rd (Hwy 49) From Hwy 108 to Southgate Dr. Sonora
