Incident Update River Fire

Situation Summary

Current Situation:

A large number of hazard trees exist in fire area. Crews are working to remove hazard trees near roads and structures to facilitate the repopulation of residents in the fire area.

Firefighters continued work to strengthen containment lines around homes and move further into the interior of the fire to check for any hot spots on the River Fire today and prevented it from increasing in acreage. The fire remains at 2,619 acres and containment has increased to 85%. Damage inspection teams continue working in conjunction with the Nevada County and Placer County building departments and environmental health department.

Ground resources and crews will continue tactical patrols around all areas of the fire while mopping up remaining hot spots.

All Evacuation orders have been lifted in both Nevada and Placer Counties.

All Evacuation Warnings have been lifted in both Nevada and Placer Counties.
