- WHAT: Fire and law enforcement officials will provide an update on the current status of the Fawn Fire and will be available to answer questions after the press conference. The community meeting will be livestreamed on the CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Facebook page and CAL FIRE IMT 4 YouTube, viewers may also ask questions in the comments section.
Current Situation:
The fire is currently burning with moderate to low intensity in timber and ground fuels. Fire resources are making every effort to minimize impacts to residences, critical infrastructure, and areas of cultural significance. Firefighters are currently adding depth to containment lines and assessing hazards as well as mopping up around structures. Tonight there will be a south/west wind that will push the fire in a north/east direction. Temperatures will continue to decrease to the low 70s by Tuesday. CAL FIRE Damage Inspection Teams (DINS) will continue to assess the affected areas. Residents within evacuation warnings should be prepared to leave if fire activity increases.
