Current Situation
Situation Summary
A vegetation fire was reported this afternoon at Swedes Flat Road and Turkey Creek Trail in eastern Butte County. The first crews reported a fire burning in heavy brush
near a ridgeline, with potential to grow larger than 50 acres. Additional air and ground resources were immediately dispatched. As the fire entered areas of particularly thick vegetation, embers flew outside the fire perimeter, igniting multiple spot fires. Air resources worked to slow the spread of the fire while dozers and hand crews cut containment line. The fire will be staffed overnight, and new resources will work through the day tomorrow to make sure the fire is fully contained.
