Current Situation
Situation Summary
Firefighters arrived at scene to find a steady, building column of smoke in an area of thick brush and grass between Long Bar Road and the Feather River. Air resources were quickly on scene as ground crews made access with engines and on foot. The fire grew rapidly to 30 acres, with multiple spot fires occurring outside the fire perimeter. With aggressive air attack and the availability of multiple resources in the unit working on the Apache Fire, firefighters placed hose line around the fire and stopped the forward spread by 7:30 Thursday evening. Crews will remain at scene throughout the day working to strengthen containment lines and suppress hot spots.
