Status Update
Situation Summary
7/13 Morning Update: The fire had minimal activity overnight, and firefighters made good progress in increasing containment around the burned area. Ground resources will remain on the scene today, working to contain the fire.
UPDATE 5:00 P.M. - The evacuation warnings for the area of the Bluff Fire have been lifted.
The fire has been mapped at 49.59 acres and is now 40% contained.
UPDATE 2:40 P.M. The forward rate of spread has stopped, and the fire is 20% contained at 50 acres.
UPDATE 1:30 P.M. An EVACUATION WARNING has been issued for the following areas. A searchable map of the evacuation warning area is available at http://linktr.ee/calfirerru:
- NORTH OF SUNNYSLOPE CEMETARY, FOR THE ENTIRE BANNING BENCH AREA.
- WEST OF HATHAWAY CANYON RD
- EAST OF BLUFF ST.
- SOUTH OF THE FOREST BOUNDARY.
UPDATE 1:10 P.M. The fire has spread to 40-acres and continues to have a rapid rate of spread. Five additional hand crews have been requested, and San Bernardino National Forest has sent six engines, one water tender and a dozer.
CAL FIRE/ Riverside County Firefighters are on scene of a 20-acre fire with a rapid rate of spread towards the northeast.
