Current Situation
Situation Summary
Firefighters are actively combating the fire both from the air and the ground. Multiple helicopters are targeting the hottest spots with water drops, while air tankers are deploying fire retardant (Phos-Chek) to slow the blaze, allowing ground crews to establish containment lines. The fire is burning through tall grass and brush, with the terrain influencing its movement. The fire is backing in some areas, while it is advancing uphill in others. Under certain conditions, there is a risk of short-range spotting when the fire moves uphill. High temperatures and low humidity continue to pose a significant concern for fire behavior for the foreseeable future.
