Current Situation

Situation Summary

Despite excessively hot conditions persisting throughout the day and terrain being very steep within the fire's perimeter, firefighters made good progress on establishing containment lines. Crews will continue to construct fireline through the night. Evacuation orders and warnings remain in place.

There were some minor firefighter injuries today, and in some cases, we have utilized aircraft to assist in getting the firefighters off of the fireline due to the steep terrain and limited ground access.
