Current Situation
Situation Summary
Today, Fire crews continue to work directly on the fires edge to improve and strengthening containment lines. Firefighters continue to use hoselines to extend mop-up efforts around the fire perimeter.
Resources will focus on strengthening containment lines and mopping up north of Kidder Creek Rd. Firefighters will continue to work on the southern edge of the fire line, north of Babs Creek. Suppression repair efforts are beginning in the north contingency branch.
Hwy 3 has been opened and all traffic control points have been removed. Motorists in the Shelly Fire area are reminded to slow down and remain alert for heavy equipment and fire personnel on or near the roadways.
