Situation Summary
Dense and receptive fuels, steep terrain and the potential for roll out continues to challenge firefighters ability to gain significant containment. Extinguishing debris that is smoldering within the fire perimeter and removal of damaged trees near the fire line remains the focus of crews.
Suppression repair is ongoing and additional heavy equipment has arrived to assist the effort.
Mild weather conditions today are expected to continue tomorrow. Winds will remain light and cooling will persist through the weekend.
The El Dorado Sheriffs Office has gone out of unified command today.

Evacuation Orders, Warnings & Repopulation
The Eldorado National Forest has reduced the closure area surrounding the Crozier Fire perimeter in the Georgetown Ranger District. There continues to be hazards in the burned area requiring ongoing assessment and repair before the area can be fully reopened. A portion of the Georgetown Ranger District south of Wentworth Springs Road including the Rock Creek OHV Trail System is still closed. Wentworth Springs Road is open. The public is advised to remain cautious when recreating near fire-impacted areas.
The details of the revised Crozier Fire Area Closure and a map can be found in Forest Order 03-24-12 at www.fs.usda.gov/eldorado. This forest order only applies to National Forest lands, roads, and trails within the forest order boundary. Private landowners within the forest order boundary can access their private land.
