Situation Summary

Record Fire [UPDATE] 9/2/24, 7:00 p.m.

As of this evening, the Record Fire is now 30% contained, thanks to the tireless efforts of firefighters working throughout the day to strengthen containment lines. The fire remains at 650 acres, with minimal growth observed since this morning.

Due to the significant progress, all evacuation warnings for the Poppet Flats area were officially lifted at 5:00 p.m. today. Residents can now return home, but we urge everyone to remain cautious and aware of potential hazards as crews continue to work in the area.

Firefighters will remain on the scene overnight to ensure the fire stays within containment lines and to address any flare-ups.
