Current Situation

Situation Summary

The Boone Fire remains active and continues to burn in grass and brush. Fire crews will work on establishing and strengthening containment lines. In the northern portion, the fire is burning in the area previously affected by the 2020 Mineral Fire. Vegetation is dry due to above-average temperatures and low relative humidity within fire area. The hot and dry conditions are expected to continue until Saturday with temperatures reaching the high 90 degrees. Winds will remain steady on Friday afternoon and evening with gusts around 20 mph. Weather conditions will start to improve from Sunday into early next week.
