Current Situation

Situation Summary

On Sunday, fire crews were shuttled by helicopter into the northern remote area of the fire perimeter to construct containment lines. Helicopter shuttling is commonly used in situations where steep and rugged terrain makes hiking into the fire zones dangerous and more susceptible to accidents. Fire suppression repair operations continue, using specialized equipment and personnel to restore areas damaged by fire operations. Temperatures will remain high on Monday, though a slight cooling trend will occur in the fire area over the next several days. Damage inspections are ongoing and are at 70% completion with 46 inspections conducted.

Firefighters are working along Highway 198 and throughout the fire area. Please take your time when traveling and watch for personnel on or near the roadway.

Structures Threatened: 41
