Situation Summary

Firefighters worked on the northern part of the fire to establish control lines. Crews were able to access steeper sections of the fire due to a combination of favorable weather conditions and efforts over the past couple of days. High 90-degree temperatures within the affected fire area will continue to ease over the next couple of days. Damage inspections are ongoing and are at 20% completion.

Fire personnel and suppression equipment will continue working on Highway 198. Please take your time traveling the area carefully, as the firefighters are working hard to suppress the Boone Fire.
