Current Situation
Situation Summary
The Boone Fire remains active and continues to burn in grass and brush. Fire crews will continue to work on establishing and strengthen containment lines. In the northern portion, the fire is burning in the area previously affected by the 2020 Mineral Fire. Vegetation is dry due to above-average temperatures and low relative humidity within fire area. The hot and dry conditions are expected to continue until Saturday with temperatures reaching the high 90 degrees.
Firing operations were successful on Thursday, and fire crews were able to bring the fire to established roads and trails to allow better access for firefighters. This operation also helped with establishing containment lines and minimized further spread in those areas.
