Current Situation
Situation Summary
Early Friday morning the humidity rose allowing for higher moisture content in the vegetation which continued to help moderate fire activity on the Line Fire. Today there is a chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening that could produce brief heavy rain and gusty and erratic outflow winds. Saturday into early next week is expected to be warmer and drier.
Damage Inspections Teams (DINS) have completed their inspections. In all, four structures were damaged and one was destroyed. Today's wind shift is expected to push smoke to areas that are southeast of the fire, which should help clear up smoke in the communities across the northern portions of the fire. An updated Smoke Outlook can be found at fire.airnow.gov.
There have been multiple drone incursions over the Line Fire area. This impedes our firefighting operations and can have deadly consequences. Please be respectful of those fighting the fire and the community members who are impacted by fire. Never fly drones near wildfire. If you fly, we can't.
A Local Assistance Center (LAC) opens today at the LA County Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Avenue, Pomona, CA 91768. It's at the Expo Hall, through Gate 3. On Saturday, September 21, 2024 and Monday, September 23, 2024, the LAC will be operating at Cal State San Bernardino, 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino, CA 92407. The LAC will be open from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
