Current Situation

Situation Summary

Forward progress of the fire was stopped around 6 p.m. Ground access to it was very difficult. A coordinated air attack with air tankers and one helicopter helped to keep the fire in check while the fire engines, hand crews and dozer made access.

The Boggs Mountain Helitack Crew of six firefighters and one fire captain deployed on the ground once at scene were able to cut a line all the way around the fire before the engines and hand crews were able to make access. Now with all ground resources at scene, firefighters will continue strengthening control lines and mop up the interior of the fire. The fire remains approximately 10 acres.
