Current Situation

Situation Summary

Fire crews have observed a decrease in fire activity. The fire remains at 1051 acres. Firefighters continue to make progress, and containment is now 65%. Fire crews are concentrating on building and improving containment lines. Continued containment line construction for fire crews remains a top priority. Along with building containment line, fire crews are focusing on searching for and extinguishing hot spots within the fire's perimeter.

Weather conditions are expected to continue to remain favorable today, with lower temperatures and higher relative humidity compared to yesterday. Fire crews anticipate temperatures in the low 70s throughout the day, dropping into the low 50s overnight. Southwest winds are expected throughout the day and into the night ranging between 7-15 miles per hour.

Parts of the fire perimeter is located within challenging steep and rocky terrain area. To access these challenging areas, fire crews were flown in by helicopter. These crews have made good progress on building containment lines on the north and northeast perimeter of the fire. The crews inserted into these remote areas have completed their assignment and are expected to be flown off the line today.

Evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect. However, there are currently no structures threatened. For the most up to date information on evacuations and road closures, continue to monitor Project Genasys.
