Situation Summary

The Mariposa Fire, burning on the San Bernardino National Forest, initially grew to approximately 30 acres by the afternoon. After forward progress was halted, crews were able to ground-truth the fire’s perimeter and update the acreage to 12. No evacuations, injuries, or structure losses were reported. The cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters from multiple agencies responded with ground crews and aircraft to slow the spread. The fire’s location in rugged terrain made access challenging, but resources remained committed throughout the day. Motorists in the area were urged to use caution due to smoke and firefighting activity. The fire no longer poses a threat, and all resources have been released.
