Current Situation

Situation Summary

The fire is located in a remote area with difficult access; running upslope in alignment with both the terrain and wind, and steep conditions are making containment challenging, requiring significant augmentation of both air and ground resources.

Highs are expected to reach 100 degrees over the fire area Thursday. A cooling trend is expected to begin Friday.

The fire is located within the footprint of the 2017 Garza Fire.

CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 1 assumed command of the fire at 10:00am Thursday.
