Become a Defensible Space Inspector

Help home-owners prepare for wildfire season

CAL FIRE is recruiting to fill temporary Forestry Aide (Defensible Space Inspector) positions across the state. Primary duties of these positions include the performance of defensible space inspections and interacting with the public to provide fire prevention information.

Minimum Qualifications

Either

I  Education:

Completion of at least 12 semester units or 18 quarter units from an accredited college/university in forestry, fire science, natural resource management, conservation, or a closely related subject.   

Or II   

Three (3) months of experience with public or private entities performing sub-professional work in forestry, fire prevention, fire suppression and control, natural resource management, or other related work.

Special Requirements

  • Valid CA Drivers License and Medical Clearance will be required
